Job Summary:

Becomes familiar with bank culture and all operations and procedures of the commercial credit department. Assists credit analysts with analyzing and evaluating all types of commercial credit information pertaining to diverse types of loans. Provides support for analysts as they review credit relationships to ensure that acceptable credit standards are maintained and that loans conform to established loan policy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Credit Investigation and Analysis

  • Assists with in-depth credit investigation, evaluation and analysis of credit worthiness of commercial, real estate and SBA loan customers.
  • Investigates credit history of customers by ordering credit reports for analysts as they underwrite commercial relationships.
  • Prepares financial spreads.

Establish and Maintain Credit Files

  • Ensures that customer credit information, such as financial statements, tax information, credit history, etc. are up to date.
  • Ensures that follow-up customer information is obtained in a timely manner.
  • Ensures financial statements are current and in accordance with loan agreements.

Follows Existing Credit Line Relationships to Ensure Compliance with Loan Conditions.

  • Reviews maturing loan report and coordinates with the Lead Credit Analyst in the notification of the Relationship Manager for credit renewals.
  • Prepares and sends out renewal notification letters to customers, signed by Loan Officers requesting updated credit information and financial statements, as necessary.

Performs Other Duties, as Assigned.

  • Works with and coordinates with other credit analysts in Credit Administration Department on special projects, assigned by Lead Credit Analyst.

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a Business Administration with an emphasis in finance, accounting, economics or real estate field required.
  • Good verbal communication skills as evidenced by the ability to interact both face-to-face and over the telephone with credit analysts, loan officers, and vendors. Demonstrated ability to use tact, diplomacy, and a "professional" personal appearance, when dealing with examiners, consultants, auditors, customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability. High attention to detail and proof reading and editing skills.
  • Good written communication skills. Working knowledge of various word processing and spreadsheet software.
